Great articles top today’s list on dotShout!  The focus truly runs the gamete.  Although it missed the pole position, the best story in my mind is “MySQL forks itself with Drizzle.”

Again Matt Asay from the Open Road got my attention by highlighting MySQL’s decision - complete with corporate blessing (Sun Microsystems) - to fork itself by launching an optimized and trimmed down version of itself dubbed Drizzle.

Matt Asay of the Open Road claims the dotShout! pole position today with his thoughts on current punitive regulations stymieing startups from the allure of public exits and its effect on the U.S. economy and the diversification of markets.

Given the Wall Street Journal recent report that “the second quarter of 2008 marked the first time in 30 years that no venture-backed companies went public” many are obviously concerned.
