The changing face of media, Part VI
The Result
MSM needs to place more emphasis on what is relevant to people’s lives. New media has the capacity to both talk and listen; it can set the agenda for discussion through the active promotion of exclusive and propriety content, but can also react during the day to reader’s demands for pertinent and timely coverage of news.
The evolving newsroom must bring together local, national and global audiences through combining content from their traditional channel, trusted media organizations, and its readers in a way that respects and adheres to journalistic standards, yet empowers its audience through a sense of ownership and community.
These principles above yield a nimble MSM organization that is a reliable and easy-to-use compass for finding content relevant and deeply rooted locally but marketed globally.
